Fromental partner with US designer for new Handmade Wallpaper collection
1 June 2010 GMT 10:15
Award-winning interiors house Fromental, together with renowned interior designer Roger Thomas, have created a collection of hand-embroidered and hand-painted designs, to be showcased alongside their new Ponti wallpaper at Decorex 2010.
Currently in charge of design and development for Steve Wynn’s super-luxury resorts in Las Vegas and Macau, Roger Thomas was the creative force behind many landmark properties on Vegas’ strip including the Mirage, Treasure Island and the world-famous Bellagio.
In this collaboration, the high-end interiors house interprets sketches of Roger Thomas utilising the exquisite techniques that adorn their own range of wallpapers. Embracing elements of distinctive decorative styles from the 17th and 18th Centuries, the ornate wallcoverings incorporate feathers, stones, branches and corals. These modern and classical designs are produced on sumptuous, paper-backed silk, laced with shimmering metallics. The Roche Meteor wallpaper in two eye-catching colourways will adorn the walls of Fromental’s stand at Decorex.
Fromental will also be unveiling their new Ponti wallpaper, a homage to the legendary architect and designer Gio Ponti. Silks rendered with metallic marbleised washes to mimic travertine stone are inter-cut to create this bold, giant-sized geometric.
Fromental will be exhibiting at Decorex from 26-29 September 2010.
