VDA’s Micromaster chosen for new five-star London hotel

05 June 2009 GMT 12:37 (London)

VDA has been selected by architectural design and development consultant Latis to provide the in-room automation system for Falcon Wharf, a new five-star hotel in South London.

The hotel, which is due to open at the end of Summer 2009, will use VDA’s Micromaster to monitor, manage and reduce energy usage in the 65 guestrooms.

Micromaster will provide continuous control and management of all energy resources and technical systems in the building from a single location. Its econometer function generates detailed, real-time statistics on the energy consumption in each room, including heating, lighting and air conditioning, enabling the hotel’s management to easily identify and eliminate any inefficiencies.

Situated on the South Bank of the River Thames, the Falcon Wharf development is intended to be an example of architectural individuality and innovative design. In addition to the functional requirements, Micromaster’s aesthetics complement the interior design of the hotel: the only aspects of the system that are visible to guests are the glass Vitrum glassware control panels, which are based on touch-sensitive technology.
