Toyo Ito and Sancal collaborate on 'interior garden'

The recently opened Hotel Porta Fira in Barcelona has been furnished with Sancal’s leaf benches to complement its unique architecture.

Designed by Toyo Ito and B720, the radiant red building appears like a blossoming lotus flower whilst the interiors are akin to a Japanese garden. Notable features are the subtle floral print that decorates the restaurant, and 15 leaf-shaped benches in the lobby designed exclusively by Toyo Ito and produced by Sancal.

The new product is specially designed for the contract market and expected to be launched with new finishes at Feria Habitat Valencia.
