IHG confirms development pipeline of 31 hotels in India
2 April 2009 18:00 GMT (India)
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced a confirmed development pipeline of 31 hotels to be opened in major cities across India over the next few years. This will effectively add over 7,600 rooms.
This growth momentum will be driven by three of IHG’s brands – InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, and Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts. IHG currently has 11 hotels in India.
Upcoming hotels in the pipeline will be located in New Delhi in the North; Bangalore, Chennai, and Cochin in the South; Kolkata in the East; and Mumbai and Pune in the West. IHG believes that these cities are well positioned to drive growth and investment in India.
