The Wyndham Grand London undergoes major refurbishment
28 July 2009 GMT 16:33 (London)
The flagship property in the Wyndham Worldwide family, The Wyndham Grand London, is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment designed by The Kaye Rice Partnership.
Plans for London’s only all suite hotel include refurbishment of the conference and ballroom facilities on the lower ground floor and complete transformation of the foyer and bar with new reception area, harbour-side meeting room, shop and lounge.
The penthouse floor will include three meeting rooms, an executive lounge and four penthouses complete with subtle fashion themes.
With the Wyndham Grand’s location so close to the Chelsea Design Centre and the capital’s famous shopping haunts, the penthouses have integrated both a flavour of the locality and a slight nod to fashion.
The King Suite, named after London’s King’s Road, is a 141m2 space created with an iconic, flamboyant British designer in mind and includes an eclectic mix of fabrics to enhance the contemporary style furniture. Key features include a full height headboard made from an ensemble of fabrics to form a union jack, and a high-fashion chair in the form of a red shoe in the walk-in wardrobe.
Other suites pay homage to Savile Row, Kensington, the Art Deco era, and Biba.
The Wyndham Grand also plans to add spa facilities later in 2010.
