WATG-designed St. Regis Princeville renovated to Hawaiian glory
23 November 2009 GMT 16:11 (Hawaii)
St. Regis Princeville has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation that has seen its 252 guestrooms and 51 ocean view suites redesigned by WATG.
Situated on the island of Kauai, the hotel was previously a Starwood Luxury Collection brand but has been revamped to bring a residential feel to the interiors in an attempt to reflect Hawaii’s natural surroundings. The transformation marks the debut of the St Regis brand in Hawaii.
The ground lobby has a cascading chandelier comprised of over 4,000 pieces of Murano glass, which is meant to represent the waterfall of Na Molokama Mountain. The room also features a coffered ceiling of natural woven raffia, palm wood floors, and glass panels that open to the sea and view of Mount Makana.
The St Regis also features a 3,000m2 spa, infinity pool, tropical gardens, golf courses, meeting space, and four restaurants.
