Sofitel Munich Bayerpost has announce the opening of ten new suites after two and a half years of extensive renovation. The interiors have been created by talented designer Harald Klein, who has transformed each of the individually designed suites with a bold contemporary style.
The “Oyster” Suite-Apartment
At 175 square metres, The Oyster Suite-Apartment is the largest in the hotel and is designed to offer guests the utmost in comfort with elegant furniture as well the latest in Bang & Olufsen technology. This includes a 13 square metre LCD-screen situated at one end of the suite, from which guests can view photos or videos. The interiors are inspired by the ocean and incorporate a blend of natural woods and skins and contemporary marine based colours.
The “Perle” Imperial Suite
Using the iridescence of Mother of Pearl as the design focus of this suite, the interior of the Perle Imperial is dominated by shades of gold, white and cream. Two large globe-shaped golden lights form the focal point of the space whilst retro-Hollywood images decorate the walls, creating a sense of old-world glamour.
The “Atelier” Opera Suite
The Atelier Opera Suite is inspired by the interior of an artist’s workshop, with 88 square metres of light and open space. Modern fittings such as a semi-transparent mini bar and are complemented by warm tones and natural wood furniture. The entrance hall stands out from the rest of the suite with ceiling and walls entirely coated in black lacquer. This finish acts as a chalk board for guests to decorate and design as they please.
The “Fleurs du Mal” Opera Suite
The “Fleurs du Mal” Opera Suite is inspired by the work of famous French philosopher and writer, Charles Baudelaire. The Suite’s Romanesque ambience is enhanced by violet and black and deep floral patterns throughout the room, further complemented by ‘Moooi’ furniture and bespoke lamps. The central bath cube is adorned with floral motifs adding to the drama of the interiors.
The “Sheherazade” Opera Suite
The “Sheherazade” Opera Suite offers 90 square metres of space dedicated to the tales of 1001 nights. The materials and colours draw inspiration from the Orient with red gilded tapestries and black and gold glass mosaics. Asian-style decorations, cleverly highlighted by backlighting and Chinese lanterns, add to the oriental style.
The “Nature” Opera Suite
The “Nature” Opera Suite adopts the style of a traditional alpine chalet in southern Germany. The wallpaper is decorated with oversized blades of grass and the texture and style of the furniture is used to create the feel of mountains, lakes and glaciers.
The “East” and “West” Opera Suites
The four East and West Opera Suites are spread over a split-level design, with the bedroom located above on a mezzanine floor. The West Suites use 1970’s inspired colours and textures whilst the East Suites are more modern, using whites and natural greens.
