Coastal Hotels launch The Gallivant
1 September 2010 17:51:27 GMT
Coastal Hotels has announced the opening of The Gallivant hotel in Camber, East Sussex.
Its owners are hoping the new hotel will tap into the reinvention of the British seaside holiday and mark the transformation of Camber as a chic beach destination on London’s doorstep.
Set behind the sand dunes on eight miles of beach, At Camber Sands, close to the charming coastal town of Rye, the fishing port at Rye Harbour and the Rye nature reserve, The Gallivant – formerly The Place at the Beach – is a contemporary, seaside hotel with a fresh, New England sensibility.
18 whitewashed Hamptons-style bedrooms include four studios with private entrances for small groups or families. Rooms are uncluttered, comfortable and stylish with custom made driftwood furniture, fine cotton sheets, feather pillows and soft feather duvets.
The Beach Bistro at The Gallivant serves modern British food sourced from local farmers and fishermen. The Beach Café in the Coastal Garden, open at weekends and through the summer, specialises in fresh fish and meats char-grilled to order, accompanied with signature salads.
