Macdonald Hotels adds second Manchester property
31 January 2011 09:48:49 GMT
Macdonald Hotels & Resorts has rebranded Manchester's Princess on Portland Hotel as a Macdonald Townhouse Hotel.
The group’s second Manchester property, the grade II listed building has undergone a significant transformation as part of its rebrand into Macdonald Townhouse Hotel. A new team has been put in place led by
Jane Farrelly as General Manager who has successfully overseen the £3.5 million renovation to the property. Emphasis was placed in creating a more stylish and intimate boutique ambiance, in contrast to the Macdonald Manchester Hotel & Spa which is known for both its size and contemporary interiors.
“With two hotels in Manchester it was important to create two completely different product offerings whilst still adhering to the standards that Macdonald Hotels & Resorts epitomise,” explains Stephanie Hocking, Regional Managing Director, Macdonald Hotels & Resorts. “Particular attention has been placed on the hotel’s 85 bedrooms and versatile dining space, 101 Brassiere, which offers regionally inspired modern British dishes.”
Only a ten minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station, the hotel has 85 luxury bedrooms and eight modern purpose-built meetings and events spaces. The hotel can host conferences and events for up to 70 delegates in the Waterhouse Room, accompanied by the Portland Room for up to 36. Smaller board meetings can also be hosted in the executive boardrooms for 22 delegates and additional syndicate rooms for up to 10 are available for breakout sessions.
