Raffles to open luxury resort at Qingshui Bay for Agile Property Holdings
Raffles Hotels & Resorts has announced that it will manage a new resort at Qingshui Bay in Sanya, China’s rapidly growing resort
destination in the Southern province of Hainan. Raffles Sanya, Qingshui Bay will featuring 250 guestrooms and offer residents direct access to an adjacent championship golf course.
The resort will be developed by Hong Kong-listed Agile Property Holdings Ltd, a leading developer in China’s fast growing Pearl River Delta region, and funds managed by global financial services firm Morgan Stanley. Panorama Hospitality, Morgan Stanley’s hotel asset management, advisory and operating organisation, advised Agile and Morgan Stanley on the transaction.
All 250 rooms are generously sized at 70m2, and are laid out in a stepped configuration to ensure that all residents have a view of the waters that Qingshui Bay is renowned for.
A further 36 villas will offer views of either the ocean or the golf course.
Guests at Raffles Sanya will have seven restaurants and bars to choose from, including a Chinese restaurant, all-day dining restaurant, pastry café, pool bar and grill, lobby lounge and a bar where residents will be able to enjoy the famous Singapore Sling, which originated from the group’s flagship Raffles Hotel, Singapore.
Over 2000m2 of the resort will be occupied by the Raffles Amrita Spa.
A 720m2 ballroom, four meeting rooms and a wedding chapel will provide extensive conference and banqueting space.
Chen Zhou Lin, Chairman of Agile Property Holdings Ltd said the Raffles brand had become more recognised in China since the launch of the Raffles Beijing hotel.
Diana Ee-Tan, President, Raffles Hotels & Resorts added that Sanya was enjoying robust growth in international visitor arrivals: “It is well on its way to becoming a highly sought after destination.” Raffles is also currently developing resorts in Olympia, Greece and Los Cabos, Mexico.
