The Sleep Event Europe has announced that the 2011 Building Hotels and Leisure Conference will be run in partnership with The Sleep Event Conference set to take place from 23-24 November 2011 at the Business Design Centre, London. The full programme can be found at www.thesleepevent.com with highlights including Round Tables sessions with industry leaders, and Sleep Talking, an exclusive one-on-one conversation with Rosita Missoni exploring the Italian fashion brand’s move into the hotel arena.
The partnership between the Building Hotels and Leisure Conference and The Sleep Event Conference will present those attending with the complete offering of developments, design directions and investment opportunities within the hotel sector.
The Sleep Event Hotels and Leisure Conference will provide two days of networking, knowledge sharing and debating for the global hotel design, development and architecture industry. Welcoming some of the industry’s most powerful and influential figureheads, the programme will deliver inspirational and informative presentations, interviews and panel discussions giving invaluable insight into the planning and development of some of Europe’s leading hotels and business.
Leading and inspirational figures from the industry, including representatives from Blacksheep, Bost Design, Cedar Capital Partners, Concrete Architectural Associates, Conran & Partners, Hilton Worldwide, HVS, Gorgeous Group, Koncept, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Stylt Trampoli, Squire & Partners, Warimpex and Westminster City Council will take part in the 2011 conference. Guy Dittrich, independent commentator on hotel design and frequent contributor to Sleeper Magazine, Andrew Sangster, editor of Hotel Analyst, the intelligence source for the hotel investment community, and James Dilley from Jestico & Whiles will guest moderate the programme which covers the hotel area by area.
Day one of the conference will begin with some snappy ‘brain food’ in the Rapid Eye Movement session, before moving on to discuss topics such as the value chain and exploring ideas such as ‘Will the hotel industry cope with the challenges of the next few years?’ and ‘What does the true and predicted demand look like?’
James Dilley from Jestico & Whiles will moderate the panel ‘Planning for a better hotel’ which will debate the importance of identifying site potential, what is realistic, and matching site opportunities with design trends and solutions for the modern workings of the hotel of the future. Peter Prescott of Prescott & Conran, Erik Nissen Johansen of Stylt Trampoli, Tim Mutton of Blacksheep, and Robbie Bargh of Gorgeous Group will examine the efficiencies of food and beverage design in the hospitality arena including the important operational concerns facing the restaurant designer.
New for 2011 and kick-starting our Investment Briefing on Day two are the Round Tables. Following a welcome breakfast, key senior executives from the industry – owners, investors, developers, and operators – will move from table to table discussing whatever topics delegates wish to raise. Going beyond the usual networking event, the hour-long Round Tables session will see some seven to eight table rotations presenting an opportunity for the audience to get up close and personal with key decision makers.
With the entire spectrum of industry professionals attending, the 2011 conference will be an unrivalled meeting and networking opportunity for the European hotel industry, leaving them equipped for the business year ahead.
The conference will run alongside The Sleep Event Europe exhibition, taking place from 23-24 November 2011 at Business Design Centre, London.
