The Sleep Event 2010 – 24-25 November 2010

The Sleep Event, Europe’s only event dedicated to hotel design, development and archicture will return to the Business Design Centre, London from 24-25 November.
As in previous years, the event incorporates a top level two-day conference and the highly prestigious European Hotel Design Awards.
Attracting leading hotel owners, operators, designers, architects, investors, developers, contractors and consultants from throughout Europe and beyond, each component of the event provides its hugely influential audience with invaluable insight into the very latest industry and design directions.
The exhibition allows visitors to source the latest high-end products specifically for this demanding industry, including furniture, bathrooms, fabric & wallcoverings, flooring, lighting, artwork, entertainment systems, technology solutions, beds, bedding and bathroom amenities.
This year’s exhibitors include Brian Yates, Delius Textiles, Grohe, Ideal Standard, Kobe, Morgan Contract Furniture, Roman Limited, Silentnight Group, Villeroy & Boch, Viriato Hotel Concept and Vitra UK Ltd.
The Product Innovation Awards will also be launched at this year’s Sleep Event. Any product launched since 4th November 2009 can be entered for a small fee, displayed as part of a feature area at the exhibition, and judged by a high-level panel including Paul Flowers, Senior Vice President of Design at Grohe, industry PR Su Pecha and Assistant Editor of Sleeper, Catherine Martin. The winner will be announced and awarded on the final day of the show.
The Gallery Hall will house the innovative and groundbreaking Sleepotel which was successfully launched in 2009, creating a virtual live hotel setting. Leading designers, architects, suppliers and operators from around the world collaborate to bring in design concepts to life. This year, areas showcased will include a reception, bar, restrooms and a selection of imaginatively designed bedrooms.
Bedroom Solutions will take two of the rooms as a platform to demonstrate their one-stop shop fit-out package for hotel rooms, with a unique design and energy efficiency focus. With access to many top-end designers at a cost-effective rate, Bedroom Solutions offer an end-to-end solution to manage and control a highly complex and customised project from design concept through to completion.
MKV Design will use their world-class interior design experience in the international hospitality sector to design a room within the Sleepotel. Their projects, from small and large-scale, are visible across the world including Europe, many resorts in Greece, South Africa, India and UAE.
The Sleep Event conference is a true complement to the exhibition. Last year’s highlights included representatives from Hilton Worldwide, Marriott International and Jumeirah alongside Rabih Hage of Rough Luxe, Jane Lawrence of Conran & Partners, and a special guest appearance from Marcel Wanders. This year’s conference will feature more leading industry names discussing topical, informative and educational presentations on design, development and investment in the market. The European Hotel Design Awards celebrates hotel design across Europe, giving admirable recognition to architects, designers and developers. A high-level panel of judges take a huge amount of time and attention to select the winners who will be awarded at a glamorous black tie awards ceremony on Monday 23rd November at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.
