W Hotels Worldwide has announced the opening of W Xi’an, the brand’s seventh hotel in Greater China, and the largest W to open in Asia Pacific. Owned by Vanzhong Real Estate and located in the Qujiang District, adjacent to Quijiang Pool Park, the 385-key hotel has been designed by AB Concept as an interpretation of the historical, social and physical contents of the city.
Spread across 80,000m², the structure sits along with two other buildings in the W Five Park complex to form the shape of a W. Featuring design elements drawn from the Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui and Tang dynasties, the property incorporates large scale multimedia art installations showcasing architectural fragments, as well as a 17m tall living room boasting lighted floating curves and distinctive sloping divisions.
Elsewhere, guestrooms feature spacious balconies linked to stage-like hidden minibars for guests to enjoy whilst taking in the view. The Extreme Wow suite, meanwhile, the most lavish of the hotel’s 73 suites, features corrugated walls in a deep orange-red.
Dining venues include Wei, an all-day dining restaurant infusing local cuisine with international fare underneath a satin vortex embedded in the ceiling; Yen, the hotel’s signature restaurant, which features 11 separate rooms with Tang Dynasty elements and serves up a modern take on Cantonese and Dim Sum dining; and Woobar, a casual hangout spot by day and stylish lounge by night.
A 24-hour gym, a pool with a large digital screen at one end and a signature spa complete the leisure offer, whilst 4,000m² of event and function space, including the 2,330m² Great Room, can host a variety of events and celebrations.
