HBA San Francisco have led the redesign of Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge’s guest accommodations.

The 700-acre resort, located on the shores of Lac Beauvert in Canada’s Jasper National Park, has seen its lakefront suites, select cabins and standard guestrooms undergo transformation, with inspiration from the region’s natural beauty and balance of wilderness adventure with refined modern comfort resulting in two distinct design schemes.

Alpine Chic honours the locale’s trade and craftsman history through subtle leather and warm wood detailing. Lakeside Charm recalls classic details of a lakeside cabin with architectural elements such as beadboard panelling, wood joinery and artwork reminiscent of docks and canoes.

The design for the Luxury Lakefront Suites and Jr. Lakeview Suites reimagines Jasper’s trading post legacy, combining playful energy and restorative calm, inviting guests to embrace the seasons with discovery and ease.

Reflecting the tranquil rhythm of the landscape, the colour palette layers soft neutrals and earthy browns with inky blues reminiscent of Lac Beauvert and rust tones that ground the interiors in warmth and heritage.

Gathering zones in the Jr. Lakeview Suites include the living room, featuring a generous sectional sofa, and panelled sliding doors in bold marine blue separate the living area from the bedroom, allowing privacy or uninterrupted sightlines to the outdoors.

The Luxury Lakefront Suites enjoy panoramic views and elevated finished such as four-panel doors that dissolve the boundary between the indoors and outdoors. Subtle yet distinctive detailing includes an oversized headboard and lamps in the bedroom to a five-fixture bathroom, where a scenic mountain wallcovering serves as bespoke artwork.

Rich, warm wood flooring throughout living area is layered with rugs patterned after traditional log cabin quilts. An existing stone fireplace anchors the space, while neutral-toned leathers and accent pillows weave a common thread throughout the suites.

In the Fairmont and Deluxe rooms, the palette builds upon the rust tones drawn from the original cabin woodwork, emphasising a sense of continuity throughout the resort. A dominant accent of juniper green emulates the forest, creating a visual connection to the trees and trails beyond the window. Carpet patterns inspired by pine branches contribute depth and dimension.

To strengthen the connection to Jasper’s remote locale across all accommodations, HBA San Francisco has introduced modern amenities that pay tribute the Canadian Rockies. Custom refreshment centres are repositioned for improved accessibility while integrating seamlessly within the overall guest room layout. Versatile seating areas blend lounging and dining, encouraging guests to embrace the informality of lakeside living. An updated art program deepens the sense of place, referencing the paddles and portage of early explorers alongside abstract expressions of the surrounding wilderness.

Furnishings are layered and curated, featuring ebony accents that contrast supple leathers and fabric-like wall coverings to develop a lived-in atmosphere. In the bathrooms, walk-in showers and upgraded vanities pair with enhanced lighting and thoughtful storage, combining functionality with authenticity.

“Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is surrounded by some of the most stunningly beautiful, protected wilderness in the world,” says HBA San Francisco Associate Jacob Royster. “We focused on enhancing guest comfort and convenience through considered details and modernised amenities to continue the resort’s legacy as not only a place to stay, but a place to connect – to nature, history and the timeless magic of the Canadian Rockies.”
