The Mandarin Oriental The Landmark Hong Kong will reopen its doors in Summer 2026 following an extensive renovation.
Located in the heart of Central within the Landmark complex, currently being reimagined as part of tomorrow’s central, the hotel returns with a renewed arrival experience, refreshed rooms and suites, and expanded culinary and wellness offerings, marking a new era for this celebrated Asian property.
The interior combines Qing Dynasty and Western influences and uses terracotta and deep green colours of historic Hong Kong homes and gardens. The design by Joyce Wang, founder and Principal of Joyce Wang Studio, is inspired by Hong Kong’s past and present and creates a calm centre from the energy of the city.
Upon entering the mansion foyer, a stone staircase leads upward to the lobby with commissioned artworks inspired by the city’s skyline and energy to admire during the ascent. Wang’s use of the cityscape is continued in the carpet designs, tapestries and gilded glass mirrors in lifts and corridors.
Wang comments: “For this latest renovation, we were inspired by the identity of our hotel as a pied-à-terre for our guests to feel the pulse of Hong Kong. Curated pieces are windows into expressions of our city through the lenses of both local and international, and emerging and established artists.”

The Landmark’s 109 rooms and suites continue the residential atmosphere of the surrounding area. The L450 rooms start at 42m² with urban features including lightened timber floors, patinated walls, Fromental silk wallcoverings and custom rugs inspired by historic brickwork patterns found across the city. The L600 rooms and above are characterised by glass-walled bathrooms which make up the hotel’s signature curve and iconic seven-foot round bathtubs.
Spanning 167m², the newly refurbished entertainment suite has a state-of-the-art entertainment wall, a climate-controlled master bedroom, a Gaggenau kitchen and private dining for eight.
Several Michelin-Starred restaurants can be found at Mandarin Oriental The Landmark and a new artisan coffee atelier.
The spa and wellness hub is holistically designed to enhance movement, rhythm and mindful living in central Hong Kong. The treatments on offer blend contemporary and innovative methods, creating a unique urban wellness hub.
“As you journey through the hotel, we hope these storied perspectives fill you with curiosity and contemplation, at the ready to strike up conversations,” concludes Wang.
