Northern Lights unveils sculptural ceiling collection
Northern Lights has revealed its 2026 ceiling collection – a series of customisable, sculptural statements, precision-designed and handcrafted in Britain.
Reflecting a considered balance of craft, engineering and authentic design, the collection celebrates decades of artisan glassmaking, expressed through hand-slumped and kiln-fused forms, tinting, hand-cut panels and custom moulds.
Natural alabaster, rich brass and precision metalwork complete the material palette, with each carefully crafted to maximise texture, material expression and light interaction.
The collection features Ember, a luminaire which nods to Northern Lights’ roots in traditional glass techniques, with kiln temperature experiments informing concept development. Hand-cut, layered coloured panels are fused at high temperatures to create striking patterns and texture.

Capturing the brilliance of cut gemstones, Jewel’s multi-faceted, hand-coloured glass is crafted to reflect and refract light with dynamic depth, while solid brass anchors the design, combining precision engineering with expressive elegance.
Veil casts a soft cascade of shimmering light through leaf-like glass forms. Seeded glass sheets are precision-cut, hand-slumped and partially frosted, producing a subtle interplay of depth, texture and layering.

Link showcases expertly fabricated metalwork in interlinked rings with integrated LEDs, offering striking architectural presence in both linear pendant and chandelier configurations.
With customisation an integral part of the brand’s DNA, each piece is artisan-crafted in Northern Lights’ UK facility, allowing designers to flexibly tailor across scale, proportions, materials, tiers, drops and configurations, transforming visions into bold, sculptural statements.

“At the heart of this launch is a focus on material behaviour and design experimentation,” explains Michael Jackson, Head of Design at Northern Lights. “Each piece emerged from hands-on exploration of light and material interaction. We pushed glass, alabaster and metal to reveal their full potential, shaping forms that hold space, command presence and create visually rich narratives.”
Northern Lights will preview the story and craft behind selected designs of the 2026 Ceiling Collection at Clerkenwell Design Week at Bagnodesign A&D Gallery on 21 May 2026.
