Broome, a 14-key boutique hotel on Broome Street in SoHo, Manhattan, has announced the completion of the first phase of renovations by Sonoé Architecture & Design Studio.

Beginning with the opening of its new restaurant and bar in July 2026, the hotel will also reveal newly reimagined rooms and suites in September 2026.

Set within a nearly 200-year-old SoHo building, Sonoé Studio conceived Broome as a sequence of experiences rather than a single design statement, with a renovation that unfolds in layers. At its centre sits a hidden courtyard, the social heart of the hotel, linking the lobby, bar, restaurant and guestrooms into a single narrative while each space retains its own distinct mood.

Public rooms are richly layered with art, books and collected objects for an atmosphere that feels gathered over time, while guestrooms shift register entirely, conceived as the imagined home of a well-travelled New Yorker, favouring warmth, texture and comfort.

Rooms and suites are outfitted with soundproof windows to mute the vibration of the streets below. Several rooms look out onto the hotel’s private patio, and the Penthouse suite extends the outdoor experience further with a private terrace and balcony.

At the heart of Broome’s transformation is an entirely new restaurant concept, Broome Restaurant, which is inspired by the sophistication of New York, the warmth of the Mediterranean and the timeless charm of the French countryside.

The hotel’s reopening also marks a significant evolution in the property’s recent history, and the formal launch of 18 Main’s flagship New York City property, with plans to open several additional hotels in select US cities over the coming years.

Founded by Managing Partner Tom Intrator, 18 Main anchors Broome as a SoHo destination in its own right, introducing a new F&B programme, a refreshed guest experience and a renewed identity – all under the direction of Liron Sanado, who has led operations at the property for the past two and a half years.
