Minor Hotels to grow Malaysian portfolio with Avani Kota Kinabalu
Minor Hotels has announced Avani Kota Kinabalu, a 352-key premium lifestyle hotel set to open in Q1 2027.
As well as introducing the Avani brand to Sabah, the property will form part of The Logg Luyang by KTI Landmark, an integrated development bringing together hospitality, commercial and lifestyle components within the established Luyang neighbourhood.
Avani Kota Kinabalu will serve as the development’s hospitality anchor, offering accommodation, dining, wellness and event facilities for hotel guests and the local community.
Designed by Shah Architect, with landscape architecture by SD2 and interiors by INdulge, Avani Kota Kinabalu will feature 352 rooms tailored to business trips, short breaks and longer stays.
The hotel will offer five dining and social venues for guests and the local community, including an all-day dining restaurant; a contemporary Chinese restaurant; The Pantry, a bakery and coffee shop; and SEEN Restaurant & Bar, a rooftop dining and drinking destination. The Lobby Lounge will also serve drinks throughout the day, transitioning from a daytime meeting space into an evening venue.
Avani Kota Kinabalu will also include dedicated meeting and banquet facilities for a variety of events, as well as leisure facilities comprising an infinity pool and AvaniFit gym.
