St Regis Singapore has completed a USD$44 million transformation, comprising renovations to all 299 guestrooms, event spaces the introduction of three new dining venues.

Helmed by FBEYE International, whose Founder and Creative Director, Mr. Warren Foster-Brown was part of the original team who designed St Regis Singapore when it opened in 2008, the recent redesign pays poetic homage to the nearby Singapore Botanic Gardens – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The hotel’s extensive transformation includes the completion of the 335m2 Presidential Suite, as well as the launch of three new dining venues – Sophia, The Tea Room and The St Regis Bar.

Across the hotel, technology and sustainability are seamlessly integrated into the guest experience. Motion sensors for the blinds and air-conditioning gently activate only when required, while an in-room water tap dispenses both hot and ambient drinking water, eliminating single-use plastic bottles. Eco-composite flooring is comprised of up to 50% recycled material, while refillable residential-sized bathroom amenities replace disposable packaging.

The hotel’s 10 event venues, which total over 14,000ft2 of event space, were also refreshed. The John Jacob Ballroom now boasts two new LED walls, each measuring 9.6m x 5.29m, enabling more immersive presentations, while the foyer’s new built-in bar elevates pre-event cocktail receptions.

Connected and adjacent to the main building, Caroline’s Mansion offers an exclusive venue for more intimate gatherings. Once an indoor tennis court, it was transformed in 2019 into a mansion inspired by Mrs. Caroline Astor’s Upper East Side home – featuring a private entryway, foyer and grand staircase. The space can be subdivided into three smaller meeting rooms for intimate celebrations or corporate gatherings.

The hotel’s redesign is rooted in the legacy of St Regis Singapore, and its personal significance to Mrs. Cecilia Kwek, wife of Mr. Kwek Leng Beng, Executive Chairman of the Hong Leong Group. Commenting on the transformation, he says: “The St Regis Singapore has always held a special place in our hearts and remains one of Singapore’s most iconic luxury hotels. Cecilia was actively involved in key conversations around the redesign, including the artwork, furnishings, lighting, colour palettes and interior details. Seeing The St Regis Singapore receive international recognition following this transformation makes these milestones especially meaningful.”
