andBeyond is set to reopen one of its Botswana properties as andBeyond Xaranna Okavango Delta Lodge in August 2027 following an extensive rebuild.
Set within an exclusive 90,500 hectare concession in the Okavango Delta, Xaranna’s interiors, envisioned by multidisciplinary design practice LIFE Interiors Architecture Strategic Design, will bring the landscape into every aspect of the guest experience.
The redesigned lodge will reflect the unhurried qualities of the Okavango and the ever-changing relationship between land and water. Creative inspirations such as the gentle movement of the floodplains, the linearity of reeds and Botswana’s rich weaving traditions will be translated through the intentional layering of natural materials and tactile finishes such as subtle rope detailing throughout the lodge.
A softened palette of sage and forest green will accentuate the blonde linen and textured weaves, while timber and beaten brass bring warmth and depth. With carefully considered connections to the landscape, these raw and refined elements will allow the Delta’s changing character to remain present throughout the lodge; effortlessly complementing one another.

Reimagined guest areas have been conceived to encourage a natural flow between the interiors and the landscape beyond. Arriving by boat or vehicle, guests will be welcomed into the lodge’s arrival experience before moving through a series of open, light-filled interiors that gradually reveal the Delta, culminating in generous lounge and living areas framed by uninterrupted views.
At the heart of the lodge, the main guest area will serve as Xaranna’s social heartbeat, bringing together lounge, dining and creative spaces in a setting inspired by the Setswana tradition of gathering.
Guests can spend evenings beneath the stars in the traditional boma, settle into the library, or enjoy carefully selected wines in the sculptural wine bodega before ascending to the stargazing nest for panoramic views across the floodplains and night sky.
The lodge has been reimagined to offer an even greater sense of space and privacy, featuring nine expansive Suites, each measuring 160m² and offering elevated comfort through thoughtfully designed living areas, personal bar and two-way fireplace. Each air-conditioned Suite will extend effortlessly outdoors to include spacious seating areas, a private pool and shaded sala.

A new two-bedroom Family Suite of 404 m² will further enhance the lodge’s offering for families and small groups seeking exclusive accommodation. The family accommodation comprises two Suites, connected by interleading passageways to a central lounge and shared deck, creating a home-inspired sanctuary while retaining the flexibility for the Suites to be used individually when required.
Xaranna’s wellness offering comprises a dedicated centre that features a hammam and rain and Vichy showers, as well as an outdoor hot tub and hydrotherapy deck. A newly created fitness area creates a space for dedicated training, featuring Technogym equipment, a cold plunge pool and a relaxation deck overlooking the wetlands.
“What sets andBeyond Xaranna Okavango Delta Lodge apart is its ability to provide a truly multidimensional sense of place, held by the Delta,” says Jason King, Managing Director of andBeyond Southern Africa Lodges. “The lodge will introduce a more immersive and holistic approach to luxury safari travel, representing a significant step forward in our Botswana portfolio. Alongside Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge, Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp and our Under Canvas camps, it strengthens our Botswana circuit while offering a distinctly Delta-led perspective that showcases the depth and diversity of the Okavango experience.”
