Lauren Laverne to host 2013 European Hotel Design Awards

Lauren Laverne is best known for her BBC 6 Music radio show, as well as her TV work on The Culture Show, 10 O’Clock Live, and coverage of The Mercury Prize and The Turner Prize, in addition to the BBC’s Glastonbury Festival coverage.

Lauren has also enjoyed chart success as lead singer of 90s rock band Kenickie, as well as publishing her first novel Candypop: Candy and the Broken Biscuits in 2010. She is a regular columnist on style and fashion for The Observer newspaper.

In her role as host of the Culture Show Lauren has interviewed some of the biggest names of stage, screen, music and literature hosting live shows from Cannes, Edinburgh, Glastonbury and Hay-on-Wye.

She will be hosting the 2013 European Hotel Design Awards ceremony, on Tuesday 19 November at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge. These awards celebrate exceptional hotel design and architecture, honouring the work of industry leading architects and designers, and the projects they create with hotel developers, owners and operators.

Among this year’s recipients will be Ian Schrager, the founder of the boutique hotel movement, who is accepting the Outstanding Contribution award. The designers of the most beautiful new hotels across Europe will be honoured across ten Architecture and Interior Design categories. Additional accolades for the Tomorrow’s Hotel Award, sponsored by Arup, and the Sleep Reardon Smith Student Award, will also be presented at the ceremony.
