Thomas Johnson joins Champalimaud Design as Director of Development

Johnson will bring a mix of expertise in business development and design, as well as managing the firm’s portfolio of international luxury clientele. His experience with resort and exclusive residential projects is complimented by a long history in hospitality design, as well as first-hand experience servicing high-end clients globally.

“Thomas has an outstanding background, with a unique blend of business acumen and luxury design,” said Alexandra Champalimaud, President and Principal Designer. “He truly understands how to deliver the highest level of service and will be instrumental in establishing new client relationships as our firm continues to grow and evolve.”

Johnson has spearheaded important marketing and business initiatives for international West Coast-based design firms since 2005, and names the development of CityCenter, Las Vegas and Grand Hyatt, Mecca as two career touchstones. At Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), he directed the expansion of numerous international markets including India, China, Korea, Saudi Arabia and Macau.

“The Champalimaud brand is perfectly positioned to produce some of the finest luxury interiors and hospitality venues over the next decade,” commented Johnson. “Joining the firm at this juncture in their development, for strategic planning and business development, is a great opportunity to enhance and nurture the evolution of the Champalimaud brand, portfolio, and global industry relationships.”
