Nature inspires Janus et Cie’s Wing
Janus et Cie has introduced Wing, a new collection of outdoor furniture hand-woven with the brand’s JANUSfiber and designed by Janice Feldman.
Like many of Feldman’s designs, Wing takes inspiration from nature, with the curve of a bird’s wing being translated into the arc, creating a balance of craft and comfort. “This is seating at its most luxurious. The texture of the furniture, especially the sofas and chair, combined with the plush cushions and pillows achieves a richness that stops short of extravagant,” commented Feldman. “It was ambitious design to recreate how the arms of the chair bend outward like the tips of wings.”
The collection consists of a Lounge Chair, 2 Seat Sofa, 3 Seat Soda, Round Cocktail Table, Round Side Table and a new Dining Armchair. Finish options are Nimbus (white) or Lava, and rounded marble slabs top the tables. Billowy cushions and back pillows, available in hundreds of fabrics and colours, give the seating a sumptuous feel.
