M&O Americas offers 2016 insight

Ahead of Maison & Objet Americas event in Miami on 10-13 May, details have been revealed on exhibitors, its 2016 awards and the Rafael de Cárdenas-designed pop-up that will be located a block from the celebrated Moore Building.

The pop-up concept by Maison & Objet Americas Designer of the Year Rafel de Cárdenas is a nod to the event’s 2016 theme, Wild. Every evening, a different RDCPOP will be premiered and celebrated alongside a respective musical soundtrack. The lounge’s Happy Hour will bring in global guests, Design District passersby and a sample of Miami’s local designers.

The Designer of the Year awards ceremony will be held at the Moore Building on 10 May.

Meanwhile, Maison & Objet has also selected a variety of interior design and lifestyle talents from Panama, Mexico, Brazil, the USA and Chile for its Rising Talents Awards. They are:

  • Guilherme Wentz, Brazil
  • Samuel Amoia, New York
  • As Hoc, Mexico
  • Javier Gomez, Panama
  • Great things to People (gf2P), Chile
  • Ben Madansky, Los Angeles

For 2016, a number of high-end design-led international outdoor brands are set to take centre stage at the show. New designs will be premiered from the likes of Extremis, Gandia Blasco, Kenneth Cobonpue and Gem.
