Andaz Ottawa ByWard Market opens

Hyatt Hotels has announced the opening of its first property in the Canadian capital, Andaz Ottawa ByWard Market.

The 200-guestroom hotel is located a short walk from Parliament Hill, on the former site of the Union of Canada building on Dalhousie Street in Ottawa’s famed ByWard Market neighbourhood, which offers boutique shopping, galleries, fashionable restaurants and an enviable nightlife scene.

Included are four two-bay Hyatt suites, two three-bay Junior suites, and a four-bay Executive Suite with a fireplace and large 560ft2 terrace. As well as a fitness centre, the property also features a rooftop bar called Copper Spirits & Sights that offers breath-taking views of the city.

Architects worked with the award-winning interior design firm Mason Studio to bring the hotel’s local vision to life. Each floor of the 16-storey hotel reflects the history and character of a Canadian province or territory through the use of stunning, contemporary artwork.

The new hotel benefits from 4,500ft2 of flexible function space complete with state-of-the-art audio visual equipment including built in projection screens. Divided up into six innovative and chic studios, the Andaz Ottawa ByWard Market can cater for meetings, conferences and events for up to 200 guests.

The property also boasts multiple dining venues that are richy Canadian in atmosphere and pan-Canadian in flavour. The hotel’s signature restaurant, Feast + Revel, is headed up by Executive Chef Stephen La Salle, and offers an ingredient-driven menu emphasising local, organic, hormone-free and sustainable products.

Andaz Ottawa ByWard Market is the first Andaz-branded property in Canada and the thirteenth in the portfolio worldwide.
