Dornbracht Water Experience

Kitchen and bathroom manufacturer, Dornbracht, has announced the Dornbracht Water Experience, an immersive installation to feature at designjunction for this year’s London Design Festival.

The Dornbracht Water Experience will be a dramatic representation of the impact that water has on our health, and will highlight the German manufacturer’s ability in controlling and orchestrating the performance of water.

The ambitious waterfall installation will be constructed from Dornbracht products and is designed to transport the feeling of standing by the sea to the heart of urban London.

Positioned within one of eight purpose-built, Monopoly-style houses in Granary Square, the installation will demonstrate Dornbracht’s expertise in connectivity by interacting with its environment. The installation will trigger two of the permanent fountains in Granary Square to produce a wave effect that appears to radiate from the house out into its surroundings.

This wave will move at the speed of a walking passer-by – bringing the environment into step with designjunction attendees walking alongside it, and culminating in a relaxing mist spray, giving the invigorating impression of walking towards the sea.

The waterfall and fountain movement will also be connected to a soothing soundtrack devised by Wave Studios. In addition, a live string quartet will take place several times a day throughout the festival. The water dance of the fountains will change whilst this musical performance takes place, with the water spray orchestrated to move in time to the musicians’ soundtrack of the sea.

David Nicholls, Head of Sales and Marketing at Dornbracht UK, comments: “The Dornbracht Water Experience dramatises the central role that water has on our health, and how it can change the way we feel. Dornbracht designs use connectivity to engage and transform water into an element that promotes energy, balance and health.“
