DesignAgency opens LA studio
Following steady growth in 2016, DesignAgency, the Toronto-based multi-disciplinary design firm, has opened a studio in Los Angeles. The studio will be led by Alexandra Bruemmer, DesignAgency’s newly appointed West Coast Director, who joins from Perkins Eastman in Washington, DC.
Bruemmer comments: “Both DesignAgency and their high profile clients are so inspirational. The work that they do and the buzz that they are generating excited me to join the DesignAgency team and help to cultivate new relationships for the firm on the west coast.”
While the firm’s headquarters will remain in Toronto, Canada, opening a US-based, west coast office was the logical next step.
“In the almost 20 years that we’ve been growing this company, the US, and west coast market in particular, have always been exciting ones for us,” explains DesignAgency partner Anwar Mekhayech. “It was only a matter of time before it made business sense for us to have a real presence there in order to better serve our clients and form new relationships. We feel there is a real energy and creative pulse growing in LA and know that our collaborative spirit with both clients and creatives will thrive here! We are super excited to welcome Alexandra to our team and to embark on this new adventure.”
In the US market DesignAgency is presently developing a new hotel brand and concept, Hyde Hotels, Resorts & Residences for Sam Nazarian, and is working with Sbe on various projects including its Umami brand.
