Hästens launches new models
To mark the 40th anniversary of its signature blue check design – adopted as a symbol for the finest handmade beds built with a unique layer-upon-layer technique – Hästens is launching four new continental beds with increased sleep comfort: Herlewing, Eala, Maranga and a refined 2000T.
“Hästens works tirelessly to create a bed so good it makes you truly awake and able to live every day as the best version of yourself. Because that’s the only way to judge good sleep,” comments Jan Ryde, Owner and CEO of Hästens.
Hästens’ bed masters have been in pursuit of the perfect sleep for 166 years, using natural materials and craftsmanship alongside the latest bedding techniques. Horsetail hair, wool and cotton are joined in a unique layer-upon-layer methodology, while fibres are massaged together by hand to create a combination of airy softness and consistent firmness.
The Herlewing model, for example, comprises 31 layers of natural material in addition to three spring systems that work in harmony to give each part of the body support. The system further allows for more flexibility to movement during sleep, and follows the curves of the body more than previous models to encourage a straight spine during sleep.
Launching in June, the names of the new bed models also translate to awakening in three different languages: Herlewing is Afrikaans, Eala is Hawaiian and Maranga is Maori.
