Tophotelprojects and Wood Couture partner to produce FF&E report

Tophotelprojects has teamed up with Dubai-based manufacturer Wood Couture to produce a publication aimed at providing information on the market potential for loose FF&E in the hospitality industry.

Directed at investors, developers, operators, architects, designers and suppliers, the FF&E Market Demand Index uses data from the Tophotelprojects construction pipeline for the period of the report. The data is divided into two tiers, First Class and Luxury, which reflect the four- and five-star hotels in each location.

To estimate the number of loose FFE items for each hotel in the pipeline sample, the tiers have been subdivided with an assumed type of hotel, hotel size and configuration from which the cost data is derived, while the FF&E categories are split into furniture; decorative lighting; window treatment; decorative accessories; artwork; and rugs. The accuracy of the data is up to the date of extraction as it is evolving.

In the Americas for example, where there are 404,645 hotel rooms in the pipeline, the total FFE market demand is estimated at $11,752,008,593, or $29,042.76 per key according to Wood Couture’s R&D Team.

The APAC region meanwhile, where China holds 54.5% and 58.34% of the First Class and Luxury FF&E demand shares respectively, boasts a higher estimated total of $14,257,369,429.65, or $23,913.17 per key.

With 292,880 rooms in the pipeline, Europe’s hotel market remains strong and its FFE demand does too at $8,137,689,137, or $27,785.06 per key. Both the pipeline and FF&E share are largely dominated by the UK.

Finally, in MEA, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates lead the way. Here, the total FFE market demand is estimated at $8,260,860,500 or $36,971.60 per key, with Saudi’s First Class FF&E demand share at 32.85%.
