Featuring leading international design brands, the event will be held at Shanghai Exhibition Centre from 27 February to 2 March.
More than 150 world-renowned design brands will be presented to a Chinese audience, 90% of which have never been seen before in China. Design Shanghai will be spread across contemporary, classic and collectible halls, with overall area of 10,000m2 in the newly renovated Russian-style Shanghai Exhibition Centre.
Currently, Magis, Fritz Hansen, Se London, Boss Design, Amtico, Ginger & Jagger, Cole & Son and X+Q are among the growing exhibitor list.
The exhibition will also be complimented by a selection of curatorial content from leading western and Chinese designers. Features at Design Shanghai will include commissioned entrance tunnels, outdoor installations, champagne bar, auction lounge, pop-up Café and seminar theatres.
Design Shanghai will host an extensive seminar program of prolific western and eastern designers, meeting for the first time to discuss the future of design. Moreover, the masterpieces from Collectible Hall will be auctioned on the last night, to art and design collectors in China.
Over 40,000 professionals including architects, interior designers, facilities managers, property developers and key decision makers from public and private sectors are expected to attend the four-day event.
Ross Urwin, former Creative Director at Lane Crawford, and Darrel Best, Co-founder of Infrastructure, join Design Shanghai to co-spearhead the event in China. Pearl Lam, Philip Dodd, Tao Song, Guangci Qu also join Design Shanghai’s advisory panel.
