CSIE Europe reveals Cruise Conversations Live programme

Cruise Ship Interiors Expo Europe will return to Excel London from 30 November to 1 December, with the exhibition once again joined by Cruise Conversations Live, a two-day conference programme curated specially for the cruise ship interiors design community.

The programme will provide cruise line executives, interior designers and outfitters with learning opportunities through conference sessions, as well as workshops that will explore the specific challenges for the cruise ship interior design industry.

New to CSIE this year are the Cruise Conversations Workshops, intimate seminars located on exhibitor stands. While the Cruise Conversations Conferences tackle the big cruise interiors questions and fascinating trend forecasts, workshops target key interiors topics with laser focus.

Relevant workshops include Marine Design 101 and Creative Takeback Schemes: from old carpets to new products. Conferences include the keynote The Modern Shipyard, where Vesa Uuttu (Royal Caribbean Group) and Bas Loohuis (Damen Shipyard) will be offering essential advice for shipyards ranging from developing refurbishment projects to the secrets of good collaboration.

Live demonstrations and product launches will take place across exhibitor stands. Bolidt will be using their unique materials to live pour art pieces that invited guests can take home while Njords Ark will be letting designers use moulded form to design comfy outdoor furniture in any shape or form. Companies such as Ritec International and Fiber Protector will be stressing their products by applying hard-to-shift staining substances such as wine and mud, to see if their protective coatings are up to the task. Take a seat in Sonic Chair’s signature chairs, which play gentle music, or grab a Lithuanian beer at outfitter AROS Marine’ stand.

The two days of the show are packed with opportunities to meet with customers and clients, reconnect and make sure attendees have the most up to date information on pricing, products and innovation in the cruise ship interiors industry. Drop by any of the product launches and demonstrations taking place on exhibitor stands or visit the onsite CSIE Pub to watch exhibitors pitch their products to buyers in the competitive Pitch and Pint.

Day two will close with the CSI Awards ceremony recognising excellence within the industry across shipyards, cruise lines, designers and suppliers. The awards cover four key categories, Spaces, Products, Projects and People. Judges include huge names in the industry such as My Nguyen, George Scammell, Petu Kummala, Sascha Lang and many more.

Cruise Ship Interiors Expo Europe takes place 30 November – 1 December at the ExCeL.
