Maison&Objet 2026

Maison&Objet to explore the past and future of design in 2026

In January 2026, Maison&Objet will open its doors with a new theme that explores how the future of design is influenced by the past.

True to its essence for over thirty years, Maison&Objet remains the meeting place for arts and crafts and contemporary design, affirming the link between heritage and modernity.

With its theme Past Reveals Future, the show celebrates the creative power of artisans, designers and companies who, by combining ancestral techniques with contemporary innovation, are reinventing the way we live in the world.

The theme – a view of the past as not frozen in time, but rather as living matter and a source of transformation – will explore the secular practices that are opening up to new hybridisations with innovative technologies and materials, how furniture is no longer a succession of objects, but rather an extension of memory, knowledge and aura, as well as how each creation becomes a trace passed on to the future, an organic continuity where heritage and imagination interact.

Maison&Objet

To embody this dynamic, GoodMoods proposes four forward-looking trajectories: Metamorphosis – when upcycling becomes creative alchemy; Mutation – hybridisations between organic materials, traditions and innovations; Recomposed Baroque – opulence reinvented with a contemporary twist; and Neo-Folklore – local rituals and narratives transformed by new materials and digital tools.

These manifestos inform all of the show’s scenography and curatorial approaches, offering a powerful framework for creators, influencers and brands.

Maison&Objet will also offer a variety of experiences, including ‘What’s New?’ in the world of decor, hospitality and retail, by Elizabeth Leriche, Rudy Guénaire and François Delclaux respectively. In addition, Curatio, the collectible design village, and the Village Manufactures d’Excellence, will bring together Entreprises du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Companies), while The Collectif Design Éco-Responsible is a veritable laboratory for sustainable solutions.

Visitors can also attend ‘Outdoor: the art of enhancing outdoor spaces’, a strategic showcase bringing together 50 international brands specialising in furniture, lighting, pergolas and innovative solutions, as well as the Craft space, a showcase for arts and crafts combining tradition and innovation.

Furthermore, this edition of Maison&Objet honours Harry Nuriev, who has been named Designer of the Year 2026. This visionary designer and founder of Crosby Studios has been hailed by the New York Times Magazine as one of the pioneering voices of contemporary minimalism, thanks in part to his development of a unique approach: Transformism.

Harry Nuriev

Rather than creating from scratch, Nuriev chooses to transform what already exists, amplifying the memory of objects and giving them new resonance. His collaborations-from Mobilier National to the Louvre, Balenciaga to Baccarat illustrate his ability to build bridges between art, design and craftsmanship.

For Maison&Objet, he has created a unique immersive scenography, designed as a visual and sensory meditation on the power of design to transform our perception of everyday life.

Finally, from January 14 to 19, Maison&Objet will be bringing Paris to life beyond the exhibition halls with In The City, a B2B experience bringing together 100 must-see addresses, including those of decorators, interior designers, galleries, leading brands and exceptional artisans.

Combining the in (the trade show) and the off (visits and events in the city), this experience allows visitors to meet designers, discover objects in situ and immerse themselves in the creative energy of the design capital.
