Bell & Swift launches in Glasgow

Interior designers Dawn Campbell and Craig McKie have announced the launch of Bell & Swift, a boutique studio focusing on hospitality design. Based in the up and coming east end of Glasgow, the studio shares a space with other like-minded creatives.

“The area and building has a real buzz which excites and energises us,” say Campbell and McKie. “It has a community feel and our designs will only benefit from the cross pollination of ideas. It’s the perfect location for Bell & Swift to start from.”

Campbell and McKie have worked together at ICA Architects for almost a decade, where they were Associate Director and Creative Director of Interior Design respectively. Both have strong roots in commercial, branded hotel design.

“We have over 20 years combined experience working with brands such as InterContinental Hotels Group, Hilton, Accor Hotels and Marriott International,” they continue. “Our work includes brand prototype design, new build hotels and major refurbishments throughout the UK, Europe and North America.”

Campbell takes the role of Managing Director and founder of Bell & Swift, while McKie is Creative Director and co-founder. Both designers are known for pushing the boundaries, shaping brand prototypes and standards on a global scale.

Campbell and McKie explain: “We have a simple philosophy at Bell & Swift. To make connections in order to deliver work that is creative, honest and commercial. We believe in hard work and collaboration with our clients and the greater design team. Our work doesn’t end at 5.30pm, we are constantly thinking and developing ideas. Our studio is flexible, bending and shifting to suit the projects and clients we partner with crafting exceptional interiors that work.

“We understand hotel design and operations. Over the last ten years there has been a fundamental shift in the way people use hotels. Travellers seek opportunities to blend business with leisure looking for unique experiences. At Bell & Swift, we thrive on providing those experiences. Every interior should connect with the end-user to be a success. In order to achieve this connection, we are constantly learning and challenging ourselves, reading, travelling, researching local areas and target markets.”
