Jean-Philippe Nuel announces New York studio

French architect Jean-Philippe Nuel has announced the opening of a Studio Jean-Philippe Nuel office in New York.

Having created his first studio in Paris 20 years ago, the designer – a luxury hotel specialist with projects including Le 5 Codet, Le Grand Hôtel Dieu and Molitor – now brings his practice to New York with help from interior designer and project manager Sandy Despres, who brings both a local and wider North American market knowledge to proceedings.

Nuel has also unveil a series of new projects including the collection of luxury expedition cruises for cruise operator Ponant; the opening of Le Belleval, an urban boutique hotel in Paris; La Clé des Champs Elysées, a 5-star residence for Ascott; and the opening of a new InterContinental property, Le Grand Hôtel Dieu.

“I like to design luxury hotels. They are places to live and dream in, complex projects with restaurants and bars that over time are becoming more sophisticated places,” Nuel explains of his work. “They are a mirror of our lifestyle and expectations.”
