JMJ Development appoints Head of Hospitality
Real estate developer JMJ Development has appointed David Messersmith as Director of Hospitality. Leading the firm’s entire hospitality platform, Messersmith will be tasked with evaluating investment and development opportunities, managing a portfolio of hospitality projects throughout the Americas, and executing projects with a focus on enhancing value for JMJ and its investors.
Previously at Gatehouse Capital, Messersmith helped formulate and spearhead the firm’s medical hospitality practice as well as manage other hospitality projects. He also has six years’ experience as Vice President at an international luxury hospitality design firm, where he worked on projects across the globe and won numerous industry awards.
Further, Messersmith has collaborated with some of the world’s most recognised brands, as well as boutique and independent operators, and is frequently sought for his expertise in CapEx planning and identifying niche hospitality investment opportunities. He also regularly advises FF&E suppliers in product development, is a former board member of Emerging Leaders in Hospitality, and currently serves on the board hospitality technology firm Impulsify.
