Space Matrix and Jaya sign agreement

Space Matrix Group, a Singapore based holding company with varied interests in the design and architectural industries, has signed an exclusive agreement with Jaya International Design (JID) to manage and operate Jaya’s ultra-luxury interior design business, which has offices in Singapore and Shanghai.

In recent years the group has formed partnerships and made a number of strategic acquisitions across Asia Pacific. JID joins a strong portfolio of architecture and design-led firms as part of a burgeoning corporate portfolio.

Anurag Srivastava, Co-Founder, Space Matrix Group, comments: “Our relationship with Jaya International, coupled with the expertise we have across all our companies, puts us in a strong position to further grow our business, particularly in the hospitality design industry.”

“There is no other design group in the region that has the same breadth and depth of offering or international exposure as us. We can now serve a wider segment of the market, in more locations, and we have solid credentials to support numerous project types and styles.”

JID, which has been in operation for over 20 years, is famous for designing iconic, award-winning hospitality and multi-family residential developments around the world, including The Setai in Miami, Capella Singapore, Aman Summer Palace, Beijing, Aman Fayun, Hangzhou, Legian, Bali, Dharmawangsa in Jakarta, the new Patina branded boutique hotel in Singapore and The Park Hyatt in Changbaishan China.

Jaya Ibrahim, who founded JID, died in a tragic accident in 2015. He once said: “Everything can be traced back to historic roots. Ours are contemporary designs but with a pedigree.”

JID’s existing designers and support team will remain with the company, which will continue to run as a separate and distinct independent company, meaning business as usual for both clients and the team.
