Astro Lighting has unveiled its latest 2020 collection.

Consistent with the brand’s creative ethos that good design demands simplicity, the latest range is refined, with pieces that extend beyond their function.

Featuring several designs, each one combines the art of precision with innovative materials.

The io is the first in Astro’s portfolio to use the production of gravity-fed glass extrusion. The luminaire’s components are discreetly hidden, allowing the bevelled glass to take centre stage, reflecting and refracting streams of light off the multi-faceted surface.

The Ottavino is a decorative luminaire suitable for bathroom application, featuring a fluted cylindrical glass design that is offered as either a wall or pendant variant.

The carefully fluted detailing is created through 2D design, whereby the glass is shaped upwards to create a ribbed cylinder. The height of the pendant is adjustable so that it can be used on either side of a mirror.

A new addition to Astro’s plaster lighting collection, the Velo presents a pared-back, geometric shape that is simple yet elegant. Its sinuous lines complement the smooth plaster material, easily fitting in with any architecture and adding a pleasing glow of illumination both up and down the wall.

The Shadow Surface is a ceiling-mounted downlight design that adds a subtle decorative accent to any scheme. The play of light across the pure white plaster facet creates a graduation of shadow. An artisan approach is taken as part of the development process, with each light individually hand-crafted from high-grade plaster, ensuring a completely smooth surface with crisp edges is achieved.

Finally, the Kinzo 140 presents the existing Kinzo design in a spotlight form. Its architecturally pure proportions will complement any interior space and is available in a range of metal finishes. Supplied with a dimmable direct to the mains LED, the Kinzo 140 can be tailored to one’s desired colour temperature.
