Duravit introduces embossed bathroom collections
Duravit has unveiled three new bathroom furniture collections, each focussing on groove and line design elements.
The ranges will each feature embossed patterns, bringing the feeling of motion to calm surfaces and endowing the furniture with a three-dimensional look and feel.
Vertical lines have been incorporated into the design for their ability to alter volume and proportion perception, while fine grooves lend structure to large fronts, making them appear lighter and creating a subtle effect of added depth. Furthermore, the play of shadow provides furniture with various appearances throughout the day.
Alongside the visual effect, finely embossed fronts bring increased awareness to the materials involved. Wood, décor and glass surfaces acquire more presence as a result, as it emphasises the high-quality, precision workmanship.
The Aurena collection, designed by Antonio Citterio, features embossed ebony veneer that emphasises the precise line pattern and lends the furniture a vivid, three-dimensional presence. This, combined with a black washbasin and a profile in brushed stainless steel, forms a meticulously coordinated material composition.
Meanwhile, the Terraccino Structured Matt décor surface of the Balcoon bathroom furniture by Patricia Urquiola combines architectural clarity with a warm, natural colour. The grooved front of the collection combines with a console in Basalt Structure Matt and emphasises the clearly defined transition.
Finally, Zencha, by Sebastian Herkner, features a glass surface with a black line structure on the Zencha, interpreting Japanese aesthetics in a calm, minimalist guise. The fine lines refract the incident light, lending the surface a varying appearance according to the angle from which it is viewed.
