Egger London unveils Clerkenwell Design Week programme

Egger London returns to Clerkenwell Design Week with a schedule of curated events and engaging conversations.

As well as ample open-house time to explore the design space, the company will host expert-led talks by award-winning design practices, industry pioneers and in-house experts, as well as an array of networking sessions, daily breakfast and lunch gatherings.

Among the highlights, design and architecture practice TiggColl offers its interpretation of what it means to ‘specify bravely’, taking guests a journey of storytelling in specification for meaningful design narrative.

Spotlighting three diverse projects, founding Director Rachel Coll and Associate Director Manuel Gonzalez Nogueira explore distinctive concepts, challenging briefs, and breathing new life into existing building fabric.

How Stories Shape Specifications: Specifying Bravely for Meaningful Design Narrative, with TiggColl runs from 5-6pm on Tuesday 19 May with guests invited to stay after for complimentary refreshments and canapes.

Championing the contribution to design of those who see, sense and interpret the world differently, design festival industry pioneer Piers Roberts also joins the Egger London agenda to explore neuroinclusivity, why it matters, and who stands to gain when neurodivergent experts are involved in shaping strategies and solutions in design.

Proudly autistic, Piers has worked for over thirty years as a creative pioneer, producing major design and architecture festivals globally, and shares what inspired him to produce design festivals and develop the blueprint for creative festivals now replicated around the world.

Clerkenwell Stories: Designing Spaces for Neuroinclusion runs from 10:30–11:30am on Wednesday 20 May, with guests invited to arrive early for coffee and pastries or stay late for a networking lunch.

On the final day of the festival, a panel of EGGER’s in-house expertise debates the ethics of trend-led design in a fast moving world, exploring transient trends in the context of environmentalism, futureproofing and longevity.

With perspectives on commercial forestry management, performance-led product development, science-backed ergonomic research and timeless design, this discussion seeks to challenge assumptions about trend-led design and its relationship with environmentalism, moving the conversation beyond the now and into meaningful, long-term impact.

The Ethics of Fast Trends: Can Trend-Led Design be Sustainable? runs from 10:30-11:30am on Thursday 21 May.

At the peak of the festival, Egger London hosts Sundowners with Cocktails with Mario.  Complimentary cocktails, refreshments and canapes meet music and relaxed vibes on Wednesday 20 May, 5-8pm.

Situated at 1 Dallington Street, London, Egger London is the collaborative home of three industry leaders in furniture and interiors – Egger, Cleaf and Blum. The showroom offers over 450 decorative surface finishes for furniture and flooring, in life-size pieces and real applications.  A fully integrated sample service means finishes can be taken away daily throughout the festival, ensuring concepts become reality.
