Expormim expands outdoor furniture range

Spanish furniture brand Expormim is challenging tradition with new additions to its outdoor furniture range.

Coinciding with its 60th anniversary, the manufacturer has introduced a standard outdoor chair, a rug and a dining armchair.

The Petale chair, devised by MUT Design, utilises minimal materials without sacrificing comfort and purpose. Made from stainless steel tube and textile, the chair features a petal-shaped backrest to provide support, which can be aided further by a customisable cushion. Measuring slightly smaller than Exporimum’s standard chairs – 48cm x 53cm x 84cm – Petale is stackable and suitable for both indoor and outdoor contract spaces.

Meanwhile, Manel Molina has created Blum: an indoor dining chair made entirely from outdoor materials. The product is innovative in terms of both its composition and construction; legs are formed through a hydroforming process, while the high-resistance aluminium frame is manufactured by CNC bending machines and welding robots. The high backrest and armrests make the chair ideal for dining too.

MUT Design also created Link, a collection of outdoor rugs. Available in two sizes – 170cm x 170cm and 300cm x 200cm – the rugs are made from braided polypropylene ropes of different thickness to elevate outdoor settings.

The outdoor collections were originally conceived out of a desire to stop the seasons and weather from dictating furniture choices. Over the past few years, Expormim has continued to blur the boundaries between the inside and outside with products that balance comfort and style with functionality.
