Jaipur Rugs introduces new collection with Tatiana de Nicolay

Indian manufacturer Jaipur Rugs has introduced Jardins du Monde, an exclusive handmade collection created in collaboration with Paris-based designer Tatiana de Nicolay.

The range of seven designs seeks to capture the essence of botanical gardens around the world, from the enchanting Albert Kahn gardens in the suburbs of Paris to the vibrant blooms of English meadows, embodying the spirit of global travel and nature’s tranquillity.

For Jardins du Monde, de Nicolay drew inspiration from the renowned Albert Kahn gardens in Paris – a tranquil suburban sanctuary where visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of nature. Envisioning a series of unique, globally inspired landscapes, the collection was crafted to evoke the essence of distinct settings, from Japanese and English gardens to French gardens, forests, meadows, labyrinths, waterways and pagodas.

“The collaboration with Jaipur Rugs has allowed me to translate my passion for global gardens into tangible art pieces,” says de Nicolay. “Each rug tells a story of cultural discovery and natural beauty, inviting homeowners to experience these unique landscapes.”

Yogesh Chaudhary, Director of Jaipur Rugs, also comments on the collaboration: “Each rug embodies a vivid narrative of botanical marvels from around the world, inviting us into a realm where cultural richness meets natural splendour. It’s a testament to Tatiana’s visionary artistry and Jaipur Rugs’ commitment to craftsmanship”.

As a social enterprise that has grown into a global luxury brand, 85% of Japur Rugs weavers are women. Starting with just two looms in 1978, the family-owned company has also become one of India’s largest network of artisans, with 40,000 craftspeople working across 7,000 looms.
