Jan Kath launches Sliced floor designs

Jan Kath has launched Sliced, a new collection of floor designs inspired by precious stone cross-sections including emerald, hematite, quartz and agate.

Though these pieces boast a sleek marble appearance, they are made from warm Tibetan highland wool, combined with a high silk percentage, generating a striking contrast.

“They ennoble a room in the truest sense of the word,“ says Kath. “It is as if a centimetre thick slice of radiant blue agate with crystal inclusions and faults, developed over millennia, was lying in the living room or entry hall.”

“The structures are so varied and delicate that the craftsmen often have to switch materials between single knots,” he adds. “But it is precisely this natural anarchy of thousands and thousands of colour points that makes the pieces stand out.”
