Marset celebrates success of Fragile lamp
Marset is celebrating the success of its Fragile lamp, which has garnered numerous industry accolades since its launch.
Designed by Jaume Ramírez, Fragile was given the 2024 Silver Delta Award by the ADI FAD’s Industrial Design Association. The competition’s jury celebrated the product’s “iconic and timeless design, which draws from the archetype of the table lamp, and can become a classic of Spanish design”, while applauding Marset and Ramírez for “turning an artisanal piece into an industrialized product”.
A mix of geometric shapes, the fixture has been inspired by the archetypal table lamp, whereby a shade distributes light in all direction. Here, a cone and sphere are arranged to hold a cylinder that emits ambient light from below.
The designer comments: “When taken separately, its materiality or shape may seem innocuous—but when combined, the lamp is transformed into a new object, one which connects with the moment we live in and its transformation.”
