Muuto add side chair to the Cover range
Joining the Cover arm and lounge chairs, the Cover side chair designed by Thomas Bentzen blends both modern and traditional design.
Hinting towards traditional style, the chair is stackable and lightweight blending Scandinavian materiality with modern craftsmanship. With a sturdy oak frame, curved seat and partial armrest, it is strong and comfortable, taking up minimal space in the room whether in use or stacked away. The chair has been created with close attention to detail through the slender veneer and solid wood, allowing for a maximum of five to be stacked together.
The seat is suitable for dining areas, restaurants or workspaces, coming in various colours as well as with an upholstered seat in either textile or leather.
“The Cover Side Chair is born from a desire to bring modern perspectives to the archetypal wooden chair,” comments Thomas Bentzen. “I wanted to give the design a crisp and contemporary expression through its thin plywood material, paired with the solid and grounded sentiment of its frame and base in solid wood. With details of its curved backrest that folds gently around the back legs and its warm materiality, the stackable Cover side chair translates the ideas of Scandinavian craftsmanship into a modern design language.”
