Nanimarquina unveils Blur range

Nanimarquina has marked its third collaboration with designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, launching the Blur collection during Milan Design Week. The artisan rug series follows Losanges in 2011 and Lattice in 2016, and uses a kilim weaving technique to create a sequence of geometric shapes and repetition.

Handmade in Pakistan, Blur achieves its effect by inverting how the kilims are traditionally woven and mixing two colours unevenly, which causes the lines to blur and results in an aged rug, reminiscent of the past.

The collection also offers two different readings – when viewing the rug from afar, an indefinite, unfocused surface is apparent, yet upon approaching the rug, lines and rhythmic rhombuses are revealed in different proportions.

Comprising four models: Blur, black, green and red, the range is available in 170x240cm and 200x 300cm, while Blur measures in at 75 x 400cm.
