Aman has announced plans to expand its presence in the Caribbean with Amancaya, a resort and branded residences in Exuma.

Meaning ‘peaceful island’ in Taíno, Amancaya will be set across two of the Exumas’ most secluded private cays, known for their white-sand beaches and world-class diving.

Envisioned as a low-density ultra-luxury property in partnership with Swiss investor, philanthropist and sportswoman Dona Bertarelli, Amancaya will feature a host of resort amenities, including a marina, beach club and Aman Spa, as well as an array of dining venues across the two islands.

“The introduction of Aman into The Bahamas is a significant milestone for our brand, which has already achieved much success in the Caribbean,” says Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman Group. “As one of the most coveted locations in the destination, Aman guests have long requested our presence there.

“Through our collaboration with Dona Bertarelli, we have found an unrivalled setting for exclusivity and natural beauty, and I’m delighted to introduce the Aman lifestyle – from unparalleled service, privacy and transformative experiences to The Bahamas.”

Bertarelli also comments: “Aman is a purpose-driven company globally renowned for its timeless elegance and bespoke experiences. I’m delighted to have found a partner to thoughtfully bring this vision to life in an exceptional location.

“Guests of Amancaya will be able to enjoy the same sense of discovery and personal connection with the local community and culture that I have been able to experience in Exuma, all while immersed in its unmatched natural beauty.”

Through its 35 hotels, resorts, branded residencies and private clubs in more than 20 destinations, 15 of which are within or close to UNESCO Heritage Sites, Aman seeks to curate a global network of peaceful sanctuaries providing seclusion, wellbeing, and exceptional design.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, Amancaya has set forth ambitious environmental goals, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and achieving LEED certification, a globally recognised standard for responsible design.

Amancaya is currently under construction, developed with the involvement of Squircle Capital, and will be Aman’s third property in the Caribbean region. The brand currently operates Amanera in Rio San Juan, Dominican Republic, and Amanyara in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos.
