Anantara Kalutara opens in Sri Lanka

Anantara has announced the opening of Anantara Kalutara, a beachfront resort destination in Sri Lanka, located on the country’s southwest coast.

Boasting 141 guestrooms, suites and villas, Anantara Kalutara is surrounded by tropical gardens and defined by a simplistic, elegant design inspired by the work of architect Geoffrey Bawa. Offering private balconies and terraces, the one and two bedroom villas allow for a relaxing, private hospitality experience, with notable features including in-room bluetooth speakers, signature amenities and ocean views. Also available is the presidential suite, which incorporates a private plunge pool and sundeck.

Anantara Kalutara will also feature a two-storey spa offering holistic Ayurvedic therapies, 11 treatment rooms, and separate facilities for children. Additional elements include a water sports centre, library and 500-seat conference centre, with a second 300-seat centre set to open in 2017. Three dining facilities will serve up Thai, Indian and Chinese cuisines, whilst drinks, food and music will be available to guests at the Upper Deck Bar.

Anantara Kalutara Resort is Anantara’s second resort in Sri Lanka, following Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle.
