Andaz has announced the upcoming opening of the brand’s first property in Portugal, which will welcome its first guests in Q4 2025.
Located on Rua do Comércio in Lisbon’s historic Baixa district, Andaz Lisbon will reflect the city’s rich cultural heritage and artistic spirit, welcoming both locals and travellers alike.
The first of its kind, Andaz Lisbon will blend into the city’s architectural and cultural fabric, offering a contemporary, cool reinterpretation of old-world details. With the entire interior design concept envisioned and executed by Studio Urquiola, the décor draws inspiration from the local creative community, creating a vibrant and immersive atmosphere.

This creative collaboration is showcased through bespoke art installations throughout the hotel, including fibre art by Luisa Ramires, paintings by Rosarinho Andrade and Studio Krus, and a modern reinterpretation of traditional Portuguese elements such as azulejos tiles and calçada Portuguesa – black-and-white mosaic pavements. Each piece has been curated to evoke Lisbon’s dynamic spirit while aligning with the Andaz brand’s commitment to storytelling through design.
170 stylish guestrooms and suites will range from 22m2 to 99m2, with views of Lisbon landmarks including São Jorge Castle, Praça do Comércio and Tagus River.

The hotel will also feature a rooftop restaurant and terrace that reflects Portugal’s maritime legacy, as well as Andaz Lounge, a ground-floor social hub inspired by Lisbon’s kiosks.
Music will play a central role at Andaz Lisbon, with the hotel set to feature a curated mix of local and international artists, bringing the city’s music scene to life through contemporary jazz, indie and electro performance alike.
Every element, from design to guest experience, will reflect the new Andaz visual identity, which emphasizes authenticity, artistic expression and a strong sense of place
