Les Roches Rouges, a Beaumier hotel, is set to enter a new era with the unveiling of a new expansion along the coastline of Saint-Raphaël in June 2025.

The renovation will welcome 25 additional rooms, expanded outdoor spaces, a gym and new dining areas, all of which has been overseen by interior architects Antoine Ricardou and Clémentine Larroumet of Atelier Saint-Lazare (A.S.L).

The duo have transformed a previously dormant neighbouring building into a sleek and modern new offering that maximises the property’s coastal views by incorporating into each room outdoor patios and floor-to-ceiling windows which frame panoramic views of the sea.

In keeping with the original vision of Les Roches Rouges, Ricardou and Larroumet’s design has drawn inspiration from iconic, Modernist architectural references in the region to subtly integrate the new property into its natural setting. These include Eileen Gray’s villa E-1027, with its functional design and constant dialogue with the sea, and Le Corbusier’s Cabanon which is a symbol of purity and Mediterranean simplicity.

A.S.L was also inspired by artists such as Man Ray, Picasso and Éluard who were captivated by the light and landscapes of the French Riviera. The property continues this artistic legacy while seamlessly integrating elements of Mediterranean and Provençal culture.

The new property features the blue-tinged abstract artworks of Rosemarie Auberson, as well as the gestural creations of Caroline Denervaud and Hiromi sculptures. Rooms are completed with 1970s furniture selected by Hélène Breheret and Benjamin Desprez. Mashrabiya, plaster walls and ceramic tiles from Vallauris enrich the spaces, fostering a dynamic dialogue between tradition and modernity.

“Designed with utmost simplicity, the original building invited the Mediterranean to flow into it. Its raw concrete shell remains untouched, harmonising effortlessly with the surrounding marine landscape” says Antoine Ricardou.

Outside, the Mediterranean gardens designed by Lamarck merge effortlessly with the wild, red hills of the Estérel, creating a natural continuity between the hotel and its surroundings.

The outdoor space also features a natural sea water pool, intimate terraces tucked amongst the rocks and peaceful retreats shaded by the towering pines, enhancements which capture the essence of Les Roches Rouges as it seeks to elevate the seaside experience.
