Bergman Design House, the London-based studio founded by Marie Soliman and Albin Berglund, has unveiled The Lund Collection, a new private cottage launching in the Cotswolds in Spring 2022.

Located a stone’s throw from Chipping Norton and Great Tew, the one-bedroom cottage has been decorated by the husband-and-wife duo, who have introduced original artwork and vintage treasures alongside bespoke furniture from their own Black Berg collection. Pieces range from a 17th century Chinese ceramics and an 18th-century marriage armoire turned drinks cabinet to a modern, luxurious deep-soaking bathtub.

“What’s been enjoyable about this project has been the treasure hunt for antique and vintage finds, which tell their own story while highlighting the beauty of newer items,” says Soliman. “It’s an approach I like to call organised chaos; the creation of a functional and timeless time with a hint of surprise or whimsical energy.”

Inspired by the beauty of the Cotswolds, the colour palette reflects all four seasons, from the vibrant green of Summer to the russet-oranges of Autumn. The backdrop has been combined with the work of distinguished furniture and textile artisans from the UK, including Upholstory, Robert Kime, Tori Murphy and de Le Cuona.

The Lund Collection marks Bergman Design House’s first foray into a new line of luxury individual accommodations across the UK, providing privacy while offering a luxury guest experience; think a fully stocked bar, hand-curated welcome hamper and a coffee machine from Swedish brand Moccamaster.

Creating and designing the property has been a passion project for Soliman and Berglund, who hope it will be a sanctuary for those seeking an escape in the country. “We fell in love with this cottage and the stunning surroundings,” they explain. “We are thrilled to share it with our guests. It is intended to be a sanctuary for all who visit – we want them to come here and truly switch off, connect with nature and feel at home.”
